Buying Locally Produced Food--What are the advantages of knowing your producer?
The Grundy County Historical Society is hosting an agricultural lecture series developed by the I&M Canal Corridor Association and Donna Theimer.
Meet the young families that are the co-owners of Homegrown Meat Market in Newark, IL. Learn about how they started this business and how they are providing a wonderful resource to the area. Their store is filled with fresh meats, cheeses, eggs and a wonderful ice cream parlor with delicious small batch ice cream made from locally sourced milk. This presentation will give you some insight into how your food is grown and harvested and the benefits of getting to know your local producers.
